At the end of the devotion I invite you to do a short quiet reflection of 5 - 10 minutes. Breath deeply and focus on your breath - inhalation and exhalation. If your mind is "busy" repeat the gratitude of the day or your own personal gratitude that comes to mind. This quite time will allow you to hear from God.

TODAY'S DEVOTION:
Today I am thankful and grateful for all the people who volunteer their time in the service of others. I have seen the statistics in the past and while I do not remember the numbers I do know that volunteers contribute billions of dollars of service to their fellow citizens globally each year. My life has been enriched because of the services of volunteers in many different areas of my life and I am beyond grateful.
THOUGHT TO FOCUS ON:
SCRIPTURE:
Galatians 6:10 (AMP)-So then, while we (as individual believers) have the opportunity, let us do good to all people(not only being helpful, but also doing that which promotes their spiritual well-being), and especially (be a blessing) to those of the household of faith (born-again believers).
PRAYER:
Loving Father, God, I thank you for all those who take heed to your precepts and give of their time in service to their fellow man. I know the positive impact volunteerism has on our global community having benefited personally, and I pray for all volunteers, that you will strengthen, protect and keep them safe. Let them not be weary of well doing but encourage their hearts even when they deal with difficult situations. Bless them and provide for them in every way.
In Jesus name I pray. AMEN ๐๐๐
Yesterday I was at the Joseph Brandt Hospital in Burlington on the Ambulatory wing, as I sat in the waiting room I noticed this. My heart beams with pride and appreciation of my fellow Jamaican, Micheal Lee-Chin and his family. They have made such a huge impact on the lives of people every where. We all can't do what Mr. Lee-Chin does, but we can shine in our corner of the world according to our abilities and what the Lord has laid upon our hearts.
Today is a great day to think about our own legacy.

My post is late but I refuse to keep quiet.
ReplyDeleteIt took me over 40 yrs to accept people who volunteer to help, compliment and appreciate me. Although I always notice when they don't. I stop to say I am very, very grateful for all who volunteer to say a kind word or do a kind deed.
