At the end of the devotion I invite you to do a short quiet reflection of 5 - 10 minutes. Breath deeply and focus on your breath - inhalation and exhalation. If your mind is "busy" repeat the gratitude of the day or your own personal gratitude that comes to mind. This quite time will allow you to hear from God.

TODAY'S DEVOTION:
Today I am grateful and thankful for all those who choose to serve in leadership roles, everybody from our Prime Minister to our Premiers, to our church leaders and the scores of people who take on the difficult tasks in unpaid positions of leadership. Where would our society be, and what kind of nation would we have without our leaders who stepped up? I had the privilege of hearing our former Prime Minister, Brian Mulroney, speak on December 4th and I was quite moved by all of what he had to say. Regardless of your political beliefs or affiliations, we all can agree that leadership roles are never easy, so just imagine running a country! A huge thank you and a heart full of gratitude to all leaders.
THOUGHT TO FOCUS ON:
To be a good leader, I must first learn to be a good follower.
SCRIPTURE:
Proverbs 20:28 (TPT)-Good leadership is built on love and truth, for kindness and integrity are what keep leaders in their position of trust.
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, thank you so much for all the our leaders as they put themselves out in front and take up big challenges for the benefit of the people they lead. They take on the jobs that the majority of people would not or could not do, and yet these positions - paid or unpaid, are vital for the functioning of country, organizations and institutions. I pray father that you will speak to the hearts and minds of our leaders, guide them, instruct them, grant them knowledge, wisdom and understanding, patience and humility. Many sacrifice family and personal time and resources in order to add value to others and I pray that you will reward them in ways that they could not even dream up.
In Jesus name I pray. AMEN πππ
