Welcome to 40 Days Of Gratitude day 15!  Thank the Lord we have made it to the end of week two and the start of week 3.  Thank you for staying with me on this adventure. I am looking forward to reading your comments and sharing your stories:  Revelations, problems solved, ideas conceived and birthed etc.

At the end of the devotion I invite you to do a short quiet reflection of 5 - 10 minutes. Breath deeply and focus on your breath - inhalation and exhalation.  If your mind is "busy" repeat the gratitude of the day or your own personal gratitude that comes to mind.  This quite time will allow you to hear from God.

TODAY'S DEVOTION:

Today I am grateful and thankful for my adopted country Canada and  the cities Brampton and Toronto my home cities for the past forty plus years.  This country gave me the opportunity to be who I have become. There is hardly a nook in Toronto where I would not live.  What a country, what a great city! There are neighbourhood tennis courts, basketball courts, parks, walking and biking trails. You have access to public golf courses, ski hills and other public amenities. When I walk the beautiful trails in and around the city I am amazed by the foresight that the planners had, and I always express my thanks.  To think that age 46 I learned to ski at a municipal ski hill, Chingaucousy Park, smack in the middle of town in Brampton!  It cannot get better than that.  I cannot tell anybody that I know what my life would be like if I did not migrate to Canada, but I can tell you that coming from where I was born, I am just in awe of what Canada has made available to me.  I cannot give thanks for this great country without acknowledging the people who made it possible, my grandmother's niece, Aunt Phyllis and her husband Cecil Ricketts (the late Bishop Ricketts).  I have learned that unexpressed gratitude is a form of ingratitude so I am glad I have expressed my gratitude to them in different ways over the years.

THOUGHT TO FOCUS ON:

I bloom where I am planted.

SCRIPTURE:

1 Chronicle 16:8(AMP)-O give thanks to the Lord, call on His name; Make His deeds known among the peoples.

PRAYER:

Father God, you knew me before I was form in my mother's womb, and you laid out a path for me and for my children.  I thank you so much that you, through the generosity of Bishop and Aunt Phyllis as you laid it on their hearts, brought me into the wonderful country of Canada.  I ask you father, that you will continue to direct our leaders at every level of government in all wisdom as they govern the country, provinces, cities and towns. Watch over your people, Lord, and help us to continue to do your will.

In Jesus name I pray.  AMEN πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

They say if you want to change the world change yourself and I could not agree more.  I have found that learning to appreciate all the good around me has really opened me up to receive God's goodness.  If you continue to focus on all that is wrong and all that you lack you will never see the blessings and just how much good there is in the world.  Make it your intention today to stay in gratitude, just this one thing will change how your day goes, ans possibly the start of a new life.

Have a super Saturday,
Beverley
