Welcome to 40 Days Of Gratitude day 24.  Thank the Lord, we are on week 4!  We are now into four  weeks of focusing on our blessings and not our problems!  It definitely has made a difference to me and I trust you as well. Thank you for staying with me on this adventure. I am looking forward to reading your comments and sharing your stories:  Revelations, problems solved, ideas conceived and birthed etc.

At the end of the devotion I invite you to do a short quiet reflection of 5 - 10 minutes. Breath deeply and focus on your breath - inhalation and exhalation.  If your mind is "busy" repeat the gratitude of the day or your own personal gratitude that comes to mind.  This quite time will allow you to hear from God.

TODAY'S DEVOTION:

Today I am so grateful and thankful for the education that was available to me growing up, and all the opportunities that are still available to me for the taking.  It is not so for a large percentage of the world's population and that is why there are so many initiatives from people of significant influence like Malala Yousafzai, Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey and so many more to advance the education of girls.  Those initiatives are more than just advancing the education of girls though; because by educating girls the reach is explosive - countries will rise up because of them.

For me personally, had I been born at a different period in history or in a different country I would not be able to have the life that I do.  I am also grateful that my parents believed in educating their children; and just when I got to high school age free secondary education had been introduced to Jamaica a few years earlier. Thanks to pioneering and visionary government leadership after our Jamaican independence I got a superb high school education that I would not have otherwise received because of the economic  circumstances of my family.  My solid formative years allowed me to assimilate very easily into the Canadian life at a tender age of 17, having already completed high school in Jamaica. 

THOUGHT TO FOCUS ON:

The Lord directs my path and my steps are ordered by him.

SCRIPTURE:

Proverbs 9:9 (AMP) - Give instruction to a wise man and he will become even wiser; Teach a righteous man and he will increase his learning.

PRAYER:

Jehovah Jireh, Yahweh, I am in awe of you Lord.  You make a way when there is no way.  I thank you for all that you have already done for me; I know that you are not finished with me yet because I believe greater is yet to come; and I thank you for what is ahead also.  Wherever and whenever the opportunity arise where I can encourage and or assist someone in pursuit of higher learning let me be a willing vessel.

In Jesus name I pray.  AMEN 🙏🙏🙏

There is no doubt in my mind that education is the passport to prosperity.  When you combine a good formal education with your faith and dependence on God's Grace, you have a winning strategy.
