Welcome to 40 Days Of Gratitude day 28! Thank the Lord, we are at the end of week 4! Today takes to the end of four weeks of focusing on our blessings and not our problems and it has ignited something wonderful in me! Thank you for staying with me on this adventure. I am looking forward to reading your comments and sharing your stories: Revelations, problems solved, ideas conceived and birthed etc.

At the end of the devotion I invite you to do a short quiet reflection of 5 - 10 minutes. Breath deeply and focus on your breath - inhalation and exhalation. If your mind is "busy" repeat the gratitude of the day or your own personal gratitude that comes to mind. This quite time will allow you to hear from God.

TODAY'S DEVOTION:
Today I am grateful and thankful for farmers and all those who work in the agriculture sector around the globe. Being from a farming community, I know the hard work and challenges that farmers face, yet they get up every day, sometimes before dawn to take care of live stocks, plough the land and do so much more even before the rest of the world wakes up. When I travel north of Toronto and pass farming areas often very early in the morning and late into the evening I can see tractors and other farm equipment going. I remember my father used to get up early and to to attend to the cows and he would bring back fresh milk that we could have before heading out to school. This sector is quite often taken for granted by big city dwellers. We wake up and put on the coffee or make tea, prepare breakfast or grab packaged food without even a thought of how these products get to the store. Then there are those who grow specialty crops used to create delectables, which I love, for our palates to experience. This is the extra, blessings and I appreciate it also. Farming truly is a labour of love and I appreciate all those who dedicate their lives to it.
THOUGHT TO FOCUS ON:
The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.
SCRIPTURE:
2 Timothy 2:6 (AMP) - The hard-working farmer [who labors to produce crops] ought to be the first to receive his share of the crops.
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, thank you so much for all the men, women and families who have dedicated their lives to feeding the world. Bless then in ways that they cannot even imagine or comprehend, Father.I thank you father that in my lifetime I have not experienced famine or lack. I pray that you will continue to heal and bless the soil where ever food production takes place. In Jesus name I pray, AMEN πππ

My own story of growing up in a farming family allow me to have respect and gratitude foe the hard work that is dome daily by our farmers. I plant a backyard garden every year so I experience the pleasure of reaping vegetable from my garden and sharing some of the produce with my neighbors. Although it's small, I feel a sense of accomplishment. It is surely hard work thay takes commitment and love. I sm grateful for fatmers and their obvious love for humanity.
